Entry Level Obstetrician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level obstetrician job?
Entry level obstetrician roles typically require a completed OB/GYN residency, an active or pending medical license, and board eligibility. At this stage, clinical volume from residency, strong letters of recommendation, and demonstrated procedural competency carry the most weight. Candidates who can show comfort with high-risk deliveries, obstetric emergencies, and collaborative care in a hospital setting stand out to hiring committees.
Which companies hire entry level obstetricians?
Companies hiring entry level obstetricians right now include University of Kentucky, WellSpan Health, and OneOncology, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes primarily from hospital systems, academic medical centers, and multispecialty group practices that have structured onboarding for newly trained physicians.
Are there remote entry level obstetrician jobs?
Yes, though options are limited given the hands-on nature of obstetrics. About 0% of entry level obstetrician openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles typically involve telehealth prenatal consultations, triage support, or care coordination rather than full clinical practice. On-site positions remain the clear majority at this career stage.
Are these new grad obstetrician jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior obstetrician roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes candidates with zero to two years of post-residency experience, accepts those who are board-eligible rather than board-certified, or treats residency rotations and fellowship training as qualifying experience in place of independent practice history.
Which industries hire the most entry level obstetricians?
Entry Level obstetrician roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate labor and delivery units, prenatal clinics, and women's health programs that regularly recruit newly trained physicians to meet patient volume and coverage needs.
