Entry Level Onboarding Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level onboarding specialist job?
Entry level onboarding specialist roles look for candidates who can manage checklists, communicate clearly, and stay organized under competing deadlines. Internship experience in HR, recruiting coordination, or office administration gives you a real edge. Familiarity with HRIS platforms, even from a course or practicum, strengthens your application. Tailor your resume to show attention to detail and any experience guiding people through a process from start to finish.
Which companies hire entry level onboarding specialists?
Companies hiring entry level onboarding specialists right now include Kestra Financial, NYC Health + Hospitals, and Kiewit, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, you'll find openings across fast-growing startups building out their people operations, large enterprises scaling their HR teams, and staffing firms that onboard high volumes of new hires on a rolling basis.
Are there remote entry level onboarding specialist jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and the systems they use. About 50% of entry level onboarding specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, making this one of the more flexible entry points in HR. Roles tied to virtual onboarding programs or cloud-based HRIS tools tend to be the most remote-friendly for candidates just starting out.
Are these new grad onboarding specialist jobs?
Yes, many of these are new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles suited to candidates with little to no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or co-op work as a substitute, or asks for a portfolio or coursework in lieu of a full work history. Look for postings that list internships, practicums, or relevant coursework as qualifying credentials.
Which industries hire the most entry level onboarding specialists?
Entry Level onboarding specialist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Energy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors tend to hire at the entry level because they manage large or frequently rotating workforces, making structured new-hire onboarding a continuous operational need rather than an occasional one.
