Operating Room Technician Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operating room technician in Nevada?
Nevada does not require a state-issued license specifically for operating room technicians, but nearly all Nevada hospitals and surgery centers require national certification. Complete an accredited surgical technology program, then sit for the Certified Surgical Technologist exam through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Nevada employers treat active CST credentialing as effectively mandatory for hiring consideration at acute care facilities.
Which companies hire operating room technicians in Nevada?
Companies currently hiring operating room technicians in Nevada include Voyage Health, American Traveler, and Vantage Search, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Nevada's concentration of large hospital systems and high-volume ambulatory surgery centers means demand tends to be consistent throughout the year rather than purely seasonal.
Which Nevada cities have the most operating room technician jobs?
The cities with the most operating room technician openings in Nevada are Reno, Las Vegas, and Carson City. Las Vegas dominates the distribution because of its density of large acute care hospitals and freestanding surgery centers serving a high-volume metropolitan population, while Reno's openings are driven primarily by Renown Health and the growing northern Nevada medical corridor.
Are there remote operating room technician jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. Operating room technician work is almost entirely hands-on and requires physical presence in a sterile surgical suite, making remote work nearly impossible for the core role. About 0% of operating room technician openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those postings typically involve education, coordination, or surgical supply roles adjacent to direct patient care.
How can I get hired as a operating room technician in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to surgical technologist extern or new-graduate positions at Nevada's larger hospital systems, which often accept candidates who completed an accredited program even without post-graduation experience. HCA Healthcare's Nevada facilities and Valley Health System have historically run new-grad onboarding tracks for surgical tech roles. Candidates who have worked as sterile processing technicians or surgical instrument technicians gain a strong edge, as that background directly demonstrates OR familiarity. Completing your CST exam before applying significantly improves hiring odds at any Nevada facility.
Where can I find and apply to operating room technician jobs in Nevada?
You can find and apply to operating room technician jobs in Nevada on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nevada openings updated in real time.
