Operating Room Technician Jobs in Nashville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a operating room technician job in Nashville?
Focus your search on the Medical Center district and Midtown, where academic health systems, Level I trauma centers, and high-volume ambulatory surgery centers concentrate most Nashville openings. Candidates with experience in orthopedic, cardiovascular, or robotic-assisted procedures have a clear edge locally. Completing a clinical rotation at a Nashville-area facility and obtaining CST certification signals readiness to the employer types that dominate hiring here.
Which companies hire operating room technicians in Nashville?

Nashville's employer mix leans heavily toward large academic medical centers, regional health systems, and specialty surgical centers serving the broader Middle Tennessee population.
Are there remote operating room technician jobs in Nashville?
Remote work is rare for operating room technicians because the role requires direct patient contact and sterile-field work inside an OR suite. About 0% of operating room technician openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically cover scheduling coordination, surgical supply chain, or instrument processing management rather than hands-on scrub duties.
How can I get a operating room technician job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Nashville is a surgical technologist externship through a local community college program paired with on-the-job training at a high-volume community hospital. Nashville-area ambulatory surgery centers and outpatient orthopedic clinics regularly hire surgical tech graduates into training roles. Volunteering at a Nashville hospital's sterile processing department also builds the instrument-handling familiarity that hiring managers at local health systems look for.
