The Operations Analyst is a key contributor to the Delegated Authority & Underwriting Controls team, reporting to the AVP Operations. This role is focused on automating manual workflows, improving data quality operations, and supporting the Delegated Authority Data Modernization initiative. The Operations Analyst works across program onboarding, bordereaux processing, and QA validation to reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency. A critical component of this position is coordinating with key Delegated Authority stakeholders to document and standardize essential business processes.
The ideal candidate is technically proficient, writes code to solve operational problems, and can move between data querying, scripting, and business process analysis. This position is well suited for someone who is energized by replacing repetitive manual tasks with reliable, automated solutions.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
Identify, document, and streamline recurring manual workflows, leveraging available tools such as Visio, Power Automate and Excel to reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency.
Support program onboarding tasks including data mapping, field-level validation rule setup, and canonical reference table maintenance.
Build and maintain file delivery automation workflows to streamline document routing and processing across the Delegated Authority department.
Create and maintain data dictionaries across business partners, documenting field definitions, accepted values, source-to-target mappings, and validation rules to support onboarding consistency and audit readiness.
Coordinate with IT to submit and track permission related tickets, ensuring timely access provisioning while building and maintain a strong relationship with IT teams.
Partner with team members across Delegated Authority business units to document and maintain critical business practices, ensuring processes are clearly captured and accessible for operational continuity.
Support bordereaux ingestion operations including file validation, exception triage, and issue tracking across program data sources.
Monitor QA check results and maintain pass/fail/warn logs in Operations Lakehouse; escalate data quality issues and track remediation actions to closure.
Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to translate business requirements into technical specifications and support pipeline development and testing.
Document operational procedures and data definitions in support of SOX control compliance and audit readiness.
Perform ad hoc analysis and produce operational reports and dashboards.
Support continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and proposing automation or tooling solutions based on operational data.
Perform additional duties as required to support evolving business needs
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
Power Automate (required): flow design for file routing, notifications, and approval workflows.
Microsoft 365 (required): Excel (advanced), Teams; SharePoint/OneDrive familiarity is a plus.
Visio (required): process mapping and workflow documentation.
Jira/Azure DevOps: create, track, and manage tickets to support IT requests.
Power BI (desirable): report and dashboard development, DAX measures, data model design; familiarity sufficient to consume and support existing reports is acceptable.
T-SQL and Spark SQL (desirable): basic to intermediate querying against data platforms to support validation and QA tasks.
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Operations, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Operations Analyst, or similar role with demonstrated automation output.
Specialty insurance or Delegated Authority / program business experience is a strong plus.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and service expectations are consistently met.
Exposure to continuous improvement, process optimization, or SOX-compliant operational environments is a plus.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate results within specified deadlines.
Effective communicator with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization, including with external business partners.
