SUMMARY
The Blending Zone Leader is responsible for ensuring that team members’ assignments are completed timely and accurately. The individual in this position is expected to prioritize work assignments to meet production needs and schedule and provide on-the-job training to junior team members. Schedule: 6:30a.m - 7:00p.m., rotating days
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.
- Manufacture finished product fluids by operating automated inline blender software.
- Physically connect and open and close valves to raw material storage tanks to inline blender.
- Physically connect finished product storage tank to packaging line pipeline. Monitor fluid usage and record transactions to maintain accurate fluid inventories.
- Fill mixing tank with appropriate quantity of raw material fluid and blocks of modifier. Transfer blended modifier to appropriate storage tanks.
- Open, inspect, measure and collect quality control samples from railcars containing raw material fluids. Physically connect railcars to hoses and pumps to offload the material. Close and secure rail car after offloading is complete.
- Inspect and drain residual fluids from empty trucks prior to loading. Load trucks with appropriate quantities of finished fluids using an automated loading system and truck scale. Complete electronic automated loading system and truck scale. Complete electronic inventory transactions and product weigh tickets and bills of lading prior to trucks’ departures.
- Complete various quality assurance tests. Enter completed test results into electronic laboratory quality system and report results to appropriate departments.
- Perform process audits and inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Work with team members on defining and writing of standard operating procedures related to the zone’s standard operating processes and procedures.
- Assist team members in solving work problems and suggest plans to motivate team to achieve work goals.
- Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment.
- Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
- Continually evaluate processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness. Understand and apply lean manufacturing tools and methodology to lead team in continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
- Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

- Complete data based analyses of problems, develop potential causal factors, and help guide teams of technicians through root cause analysis and determination for difficult or complicated problems.
- Operate a computer—PC proficiency; use spreadsheets and reporting software effectively.
- Wear/use required PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as directed.
- Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs.
- Recognize problems when they occur and to work toward the solution of those problems.
- Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. Look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.

Minimum Experience, Education, and Certifications
An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:
- One year of related experience and/or training, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
- Must be able to obtain forklift and pallet jack license through Warren Distribution.
