About us:
Here at Ambience, we never set out to be just another scribe. We’re building the AI intelligence platform that restores humanity to healthcare and drives meaningful ROI for health systems across the country.
Our technology helps providers focus on delivering great care by removing the administrative burden that pulls them away from patients and away from their most impactful work. Ambience delivers real-time coding-aware documentation and clinical workflow support across ambulatory, emergency and inpatient settings at the top health systems in North America.
Our teams operate relentlessly with extreme ownership to build the best solutions for our health system partners. We value candor, positivity and deep thought — and we expect a lot from each other because we know the problems we’re solving truly matter.
Ambience was ranked #1 for Improving the Clinician Experience in the KLAS Research Emerging Solutions Top 20 Report, recognized by Fast Company as one of the Next Big Things in Tech, named one of the best AI companies in healthcare by Inc., and selected as a LinkedIn Top Startup in 2024 and 2025. We’re backed by Oak HC/FT, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), OpenAI Startup Fund, and Kleiner Perkins — and we’re just getting started.
The Role:
As a Clinician Education Specialist, you will own the onboarding experience for clinicians across Ambience's growing customer base. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring every clinician who adopts Ambience's AI-powered solutions feels confident, supported, and successful from day one. You will be responsible for delivering seamless onboarding experiences, continuously improving the processes and tools that power them, and partnering closely with Clinical Success Managers and enterprise teams to drive rapid activation and long-term adoption. Clinician Education Specialists operate at the intersection of clinical empathy and operational excellence building scalable onboarding systems while never losing sight of the individual clinician experience.
What You'll Do:
- Own the end-to-end clinician onboarding experience, from session delivery through activation, driving >90% clinician satisfaction and >70% activation within 14 days of onboarding
- Facilitate high-quality group and individual onboarding sessions that help clinicians feel immediately confident and ready to use Ambience independently
- Partner closely with Clinical Success Managers and enterprise leads to align onboarding approaches with real-world clinical workflows and health system-specific needs
- Identify and implement at least three onboarding workflow improvements per quarter, using clinician and internal feedback to continuously raise the bar
- Own and maintain all clinician-facing onboarding materials including guides, videos, FAQs, and the knowledge base ensuring content stays current with product releases and workflow changes
- Manage onboarding tools and scheduling infrastructure (e.g., Zoom Events) with zero tolerance for operational failures, ensuring every session runs flawlessly
- Introduce at least one new automation, efficiency improvement, or innovative tool every six months to improve the onboarding experience and reduce manual burden
- Support at least two enterprise workflow coaching or expansion initiatives per quarter, contributing tailored onboarding plans and scalable clinician success strategies
- Maintain clear documentation of onboarding plans, process improvements, and outcomes to enable repeatable, scalable clinician success as Ambience grows
Who You Are:
- You have 3–5 years of experience in onboarding, training, customer success, or clinician education, preferably within healthcare, healthcare SaaS, or health tech
- You have a demonstrated track record of supporting clinicians or other technical end users through product adoption, with measurable outcomes in satisfaction and activation
- You are a skilled facilitator who can run both group and individual onboarding sessions, meeting clinicians where they are and helping them reach confidence quickly
- You translate complex workflows into simple, actionable guidance and you adjust your communication style based on who's in the room
- You are organized and operationally sharp, able to manage multiple onboarding workstreams simultaneously without letting details slip
- You are a proactive process improver who doesn't wait to be asked. You spot inefficiencies, propose solutions, and follow through on implementation
- You are comfortable experimenting with new tools and approaches, and you get excited about finding smarter, more scalable ways to deliver great onboarding
- You thrive in cross-functional environments and build strong working relationships with Customer Success, Implementation, and clinical teams
- You are highly collaborative, low-ego, and motivated by the success of the clinicians and teams you support
- You are comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth startup environment where processes are still being built and your contributions directly shape how the function scales

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as an Education Specialist
Target employers with a history of OPT hiring
School districts, education nonprofits, and edtech companies have hired OPT students before and understand the timeline. Search Migrate Mate to find Education Specialist roles from employers already familiar with F-1 work authorization.
Apply early relative to your OPT start date
Most Education Specialist roles have onboarding tied to school calendars. Submitting applications six to eight weeks before your OPT begins gives employers enough lead time to move through hiring without worrying about authorization gaps.
Clarify your STEM OPT eligibility if your degree qualifies
If your degree is in instructional technology, learning sciences, or a qualifying STEM field, you may be eligible for a 24-month STEM OPT extension. This significantly increases your value to employers evaluating long-term hiring risk.
Frame your international background as a curriculum asset
Multilingual ability and cross-cultural education experience are genuine differentiators for Education Specialist roles in diverse districts. Lead with these in your cover letter, especially for roles serving English language learners or international student populations.
Prepare documentation before your first interview
Have your I-20, EAD card, and OPT approval notice ready to share. Employers unfamiliar with OPT are reassured when candidates can immediately explain their authorization period and confirm there are no gaps in their work eligibility.

Can I work as an Education Specialist on OPT without employer sponsorship?
Yes. OPT authorization comes from your school and USCIS, not your employer, so you can accept any Education Specialist role that qualifies as directly related to your degree field. Your employer does not file any petition on your behalf during OPT. You do need to report your employer to your DSO within 10 days of starting.
Does an Education Specialist job qualify as directly related to my degree?
It depends on your specific degree. Education, curriculum and instruction, instructional design, educational psychology, and learning sciences degrees generally qualify. If your degree is in an adjacent field like communications or social work, you'll need to document how the role connects. Your DSO can help you confirm the connection before you accept an offer.
Where can I find Education Specialist jobs that are open to OPT students?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for F-1 OPT candidates, so you're not sorting through roles that exclude international students. Education Specialist postings on Migrate Mate come from employers in K-12 districts, edtech companies, and nonprofits that have demonstrated openness to hiring candidates on OPT work authorization.
What happens if my Education Specialist job ends before my OPT expires?
You have a cumulative 90-day unemployment limit during standard OPT. If your role ends, you can continue job searching within that window without violating your status. Report the employment end date to your DSO promptly. If you're on STEM OPT, the limit extends to 150 days total across the full authorization period.
Do Education Specialist roles qualify for STEM OPT extension?
Some do. If your degree is classified under a qualifying STEM CIP code, such as instructional technology, educational measurement, or learning sciences, and your Education Specialist role involves applying that technical knowledge directly, you may qualify for the 24-month extension. Confirm your CIP code with your DSO and verify the role meets the training plan requirements before applying.
