ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
How you'll make an impact in this role:
- Provide advanced life support for critically ill or injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
- Identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients during transport in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse, initiating interventions based on team protocols.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment, including contacting receiving medical personnel to report patient observations and follow directives.
- Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure the safety of the transport team, patients, and the public.
- May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What minimum qualifications you'll need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date OR job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
- Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
What additional requirements you'll need:
- 2 years experience as a paramedic with a 911 service
- Ability to work both Day and Night Shifts - 6:30am-7:00pm and 6:30pm-7:00am
- PRN Commitment: Tier 1 = 36 hours per 6 week schedule or Tier 2 = 72 hours per 6 week schedule
