Partner Relationship Manager Jobs in Virginia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a partner relationship manager in Virginia?
Partner relationship manager roles in Virginia do not require a state-issued license or certification. Most employers require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, along with prior experience in sales, account management, or channel partnerships. Virginia's concentration of federal contractors and technology firms means that familiarity with government contracting vehicles or technology alliance programs gives candidates a concrete edge in the Northern Virginia market.
Which companies hire partner relationship managers in Virginia?
Companies currently hiring partner relationship managers in Virginia include HII, Amazon Web Services, and Amazon, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Virginia's dense federal contracting ecosystem and its headquarters-level presence of major technology and defense firms make it one of the more active states for channel and alliance management roles.
Which Virginia cities have the most partner relationship manager jobs?
Arlington, Richmond, and Newport News have the most partner relationship manager openings in Virginia. Northern Virginia dominates because it hosts the headquarters and major offices of federal contractors, cloud providers, and cybersecurity firms that depend on structured partner ecosystems, while Richmond draws openings from financial services and insurance companies that rely on broker and distribution channel programs.
Are there remote partner relationship manager jobs in Virginia?
Yes, and more than most fields. Partner relationship managers work primarily through calls, digital collaboration tools, and occasional travel to partner sites, which makes the role well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 46% of partner relationship manager openings tied to Virginia are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the most remote positions typically focused on cloud or software alliance programs rather than field-facing channel roles.
How can I get hired as a partner relationship manager in Virginia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from inside sales, account coordination, or vendor management into a partner program coordinator or channel operations role at a large Virginia-based technology or defense firm. Companies like Leidos and Booz Allen Hamilton run structured associate and rotational programs that place early-career candidates into business development tracks. Building familiarity with Salesforce or a partner relationship management platform and earning a vendor-specific certification such as those from Microsoft or AWS adds a measurable credential that Virginia employers in the federal technology space recognize.
Where can I find and apply to partner relationship manager jobs in Virginia?
