Job Summary
The Global Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, negotiation, and administration of UMass Amherst’s global partnership agreements in accordance with university policies. The role provides operational, analytical, and coordination support to faculty, staff, and international partners to advance the University’s global engagement activities.
Essential Functions
-
Coordinate and implement the global partnership initiation process; assist in negotiating, developing, and drafting agreements; and ensure compliance with all UMass Amherst procedures for partnership approval and implementation.

Maintain, review, and advise on the University’s global partnership portfolio; advise internal and external stakeholders on global activity modalities, ensuring strong communication, service, and coordination with Colleges, Schools, administrative units, and international partners.

Implement special programs for global partnerships (e.g. funding schemes, symposia, workshops, etc.); assess and monitor success; assist with international visits and delegations.

Conduct research on global higher education partnerships as directed and manage partnership related data systems, including maintaining the Global Engagement Dashboard (Tableau), entering and tracking data in Salesforce, and producing analytical and ad hoc reports to inform decision making.

Coordinate, assist, and enhance operational processes, policies, and projects that support partnership activities across the University; assist with training planning and hosting international delegation visits.

Assist with planning and staffing travel and international meetings for the Senior Vice Provost and other University leaders as directed.
Other Functions

Manage student workers as required.

Performs related duties as assigned or required to meet Department, Executive Area/Division, and University goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree.
-
Strong verbal, interpersonal, and coordination skills, with the ability to provide effective operational support and guidance to faculty, staff, and external partners within a complex, diverse organizational environment.

Strong written communication skills and attention to detail, including the ability to draft, edit, and review professional correspondence, proposals, and agreements.
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and balance competing projects and priorities.
-
Ability to apply and strengthen technical knowledge, judgment, and problem-solving skills to manage tasks effectively and support institutional processes.
-
Demonstrated proficiency with data systems, databases, and analytical tools, combined with strong quantitative and IT skills to support reporting, tracking, recordkeeping, and data-informed decision making.
Preferred Qualifications

Two years of professional work experience in a position that is directly related to international education in a higher education context.

Demonstrated experience with Salesforce or other CRM software.
-
Experience with Tableau or similar data analytic tools.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.
Work Schedule and Work Arrangement
Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Required to work some evenings and weekends.
Occasional international and domestic travel is required.
This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee’s work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position falls within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining agreement.
Salary Information
Pay Grade: PSSAP Grade 25
