Partnerships Coordinator Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a partnerships coordinator in New York?
Partnerships coordinator roles in New York do not require a state-issued license or credential. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing, or a related field, combined with relevant experience in account management, development, or sales. New York's nonprofit sector and media industry are especially active entry points, with many coordinators starting in program associate or development assistant roles at organizations headquartered in New York City before moving into dedicated partnerships work.
Which companies hire partnerships coordinators in New York?
Employers hiring partnerships coordinators in New York right now include King & Spalding, Public Partnerships, and Arup, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's density of media companies, major nonprofits, and Fortune 500 headquarters means consistent demand for coordinators who can manage both corporate and community-facing partnership programs.
Which New York cities have the most partnerships coordinator jobs?
New York, Buffalo, and Albany have the most partnerships coordinator openings in New York. New York City dominates by volume because it is home to the largest concentration of media companies, financial institutions, and national nonprofits, while Albany's government-adjacent organizations and Buffalo's growing healthcare and university sectors generate steady regional demand for partnership-focused roles.
Are there remote partnerships coordinator jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 22% of partnerships coordinator openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves email outreach, virtual meetings, and CRM management rather than on-site work. The parts of the role most commonly offered remotely are reporting, partner communication, and proposal development, while in-person attendance is more often required for events and stakeholder meetings.
How can I get hired as a partnerships coordinator in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a development associate or program coordinator role at a New York City nonprofit, where many large institutions such as United Way of New York City and NYC Health + Hospitals run structured associate programs for early-career candidates. Adjacent roles in fundraising, event coordination, or account support at media or tech companies in New York also transition naturally into partnerships work. A strong portfolio of relationship management projects or a certificate in nonprofit management from a New York university adds a measurable edge.
Where can I find and apply to partnerships coordinator jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to partnerships coordinator jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and preferences, and apply directly through each listing.
