We are currently expanding our team to meet the direct service needs of San Francisco children, families, and early childhood community-based programs who serve them.

This position is perfect for an SLP who currently works part time in a clinic setting or does early intervention home visits and wants experience working with classroom staff in a preschool setting, or an SLP who has previously worked in a school environment (familiar with IEPs and school procedures), but now wants a low, manageable caseload and a chance to work alongside teachers and organically connect with parents.

The ideal candidate is bilingual (or experienced working with interpreters), highly skilled, creative, enjoys thinking outside the box, thrives on a balance of flexibility and structure, loves to create systems and materials that make work efficient and fun, prides her/him/themself on efficiency, is a good listener, excellent communicator, and enjoys working with parents and other professionals.

Job Description

As part of Linguistic Connection’s (LC) team, you will provide primarily in-person services. Your work may include but is not limited to:

• Assessment and intervention: Conduct individual and/or group speech-language observations, assessments, and therapy in natural (early childhood) environments for children birth to five who are eligible for IFSP or IEP based services.
• Support within everyday activities: Adapting individual and small-group services to children’s needs and service plans and embedding communication strategies into play, classroom routines, and interactions with peers and educators.
• Family and educator collaboration: Understand family priorities and goals; develop shared goals and practical strategies with families and classroom teams, explain findings in accessible language, and support communication across home and early childhood settings.
• Clinical documentation and communications : Maintain records for assigned services, regularly communicating with students family and support teams with mentorship from LC director
• Team learning and program development: Participate in solutions that contribute to strengthening resources and practices to support consistent, sustainable and responsive services
• Reflective interdisciplinary team practice : you will join a team that values reflective practice and the opportunity to build meaningful systems and connections with children, families, educators, and community partners.

Requirements

• Masters degree in speech language pathology
• Current CA SLP license certification or eligibility
• Fingerprint background clearance
• Tuberculosis (TB) clearance

Candidates will bring:

• Experience or a strong interest in working with children from birth through age five, previous early intervention and preschool services are highly valued.
• A commitment to culturally and linguistically responsive, strengths-based, and inclusive practice.
• Strong communication, organization, and clinical documentation skills.
• The ability to work independently while also seeking support, sharing ideas, and contributing to a collaborative team.
• Flexibility, sound clinical judgment, strong professional ethics, and an interest in helping shape a developing service model for children, families and the community.
• Experience with IFSP and/or IEP services, multilingual dynamic assessment, individual & group therapy and classroom-based services
• Experience with caregiver or educator coaching is highly valued

Clinical Fellowship consideration: LC may consider one Clinical Fellow whose interests and qualifications align closely with the role, subject to available supervision capacity and an agreed supervision plan.

Employment Structure

Full-time and part-time employee positions available. Schedules will be established collaboratively based on program needs and clinician availability.

Compensation

$65–$90 per hour, based on relevant experience, early childhood expertise, bilingual clinical skills, and position responsibilities.

Schedule

Site assignments and weekly schedules will be discussed during the hiring process.

Year-round weekday position during regular program hours at San Francisco early childhood community sites. Schedules include protected time for preparation, documentation, family and educator consultation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Anticipated Start Date

Selected candidates should be available to complete onboarding, orientation, and initial site coordination as soon as possible and before a start date of February 1, 2027. Individual start dates will be discussed during the hiring process.
