This position is Full Time in Radiology - the schedule will be a mid shift schedule from 11a to 8p. During the initial training period the hours will be 8a to 5p. Location is Center City but could be working in the Gibbon building, Honickman Center, JHN, COB first floor or basement, or 10 Main.

Summary
Handle multi-channel interactions in a centralized contact center environment from patients, families and physicians to schedule, register and financially clear patient appointments. Meet every transaction with the utmost service and resolve; providing a patient experience that supports our commitment to efficient and effective connections to care. Interact with a diverse patient base to ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns or problems with a focus on first call resolution. Demonstrate commitment to service and follow-through. Follow departmental protocols to ensure patient safety and accurate data entry. Job Duties
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. (Do not delete, move or over-write this statement)
- Schedule patient appointments, verify scripts, pre-screens and register patient for imaging visits in accordance with established clinical and insurance requirements to improve access and care coordination. Assists Imaging technologist in preparing patients for procedures.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to complete scheduling and registration, confirm appointments, verify demographic information, run medical necessity, answer inquiries and resolve user issues in accordance with established protocols to ensure patient safety, compliance and departmental policies and procedures.
- Coordinate referrals and insurance requirements by obtaining and/or confirming patient information to ensure the patient receives maximum benefits for services. Assure regulatory and compliance requirements following local payor coverage determinations.
- Utilize software system to answer, coordinate, track, and monitor interactions across multiple channels of communication.
- Instructs the patient regarding preparations, pre-screens for radiologic examination using guide sheet posted at reception area. Alerts appropriate personnel of each patient's arrival and awaits acknowledgment that message has been received.
- Maintain qualitative and quantitative individual and team performance targets.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in the use of computers. Type 35 wpm. Knowledge of medical terminology used by insurance and managed care health plans. Knowledge of imaging procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year Previous related experience preferred
- Bilingual skills a plus.
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
