Patient Registrar Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a patient registrar in Florida?
Florida does not require a state-issued license to work as a patient registrar, so the path starts with a high school diploma and a willingness to learn medical terminology and insurance basics. Most Florida hospitals and health systems hire candidates who have completed a medical billing, health information, or healthcare administration program at a Florida community college. Earning a nationally recognized credential such as the CHAA from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management strengthens any application significantly.
Which companies hire patient registrars in Florida?
Employers hiring patient registrars in Florida right now include Nicklaus Children's Health System, Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center, and NCH, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's large integrated health systems and multisite outpatient groups post patient registrar roles on an ongoing basis because of high patient volume and turnover in front-end revenue cycle positions.
Which Florida cities have the most patient registrar jobs?
The cities with the most patient registrar openings in Florida are Miami, Naples, and Oakland Park. Miami and Tampa each anchor dense clusters of hospitals, specialty clinics, and multisite outpatient centers that drive consistent demand, while Orlando's rapid population growth has pushed AdventHealth and other large systems to expand their registration teams across suburban campuses throughout Central Florida.
Are there remote patient registrar jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they are rare. Patient registration is primarily an on-site function tied to patient arrival, insurance verification at check-in, and direct coordination with clinical staff. About 0% of patient registrar openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and the positions most likely to allow remote work are pre-registration and insurance verification roles that do not require a physical patient interaction.
How can I get hired as a patient registrar in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly for patient access representative or medical front office assistant roles at Florida community hospitals and outpatient clinics, which routinely hire candidates without prior healthcare experience. Large Florida systems like HCA Florida and AdventHealth run structured onboarding programs that train new registrars from the ground up. Completing even a short medical terminology or health information course at a Florida state college and earning the Certified Healthcare Access Associate credential significantly improves your chances over applicants who apply without any formal preparation.
Where can I find and apply to patient registrar jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to patient registrar jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
