Pharmacy Intern Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a pharmacy intern in Washington?
To work as a pharmacy intern in Washington, you must register with the Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission before performing any intern duties. Registration requires current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited PharmD program and a completed application submitted to the Commission. Once registered, you may work under a licensed Washington pharmacist, accruing intern hours that count toward eventual pharmacist licensure.
Which companies hire pharmacy interns in Washington?
Washington pharmacy intern roles are posted by CVS Health, Safeway, and Walgreens and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's mix of large integrated health systems, regional retail chains, and independent community pharmacies creates consistent intern demand across both urban centers and smaller cities.
Which Washington cities have the most pharmacy intern jobs?
Spokane, Seattle, and Kennewick have the most pharmacy intern openings in Washington. Seattle drives the largest share through its concentration of major health systems and academic medical centers, while Spokane benefits from several regional hospital networks and the presence of pharmacy school programs that feed local intern pipelines, and Tacoma draws on its established network of community and retail pharmacy locations.
Are there remote pharmacy intern jobs in Washington?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of pharmacy intern openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the hands-on, supervised nature of most intern rotations. The small share of remote-eligible work tends to involve medication therapy management calls, telepharmacy support, or administrative pharmacy projects rather than core dispensing duties.
How can I get hired as a pharmacy intern in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for an introductory pharmacy practice experience rotation through your PharmD program, which connects early students directly to Washington health systems like Swedish Medical Center or MultiCare. Retail chains operating Washington locations regularly take first-year pharmacy students as registered interns. Holding an active Washington Pharmacy Intern registration before applying, and having completed any pharmacy technician work in the state, makes candidates significantly more competitive for limited intern slots.
Where can I find and apply to pharmacy intern jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to pharmacy intern jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings updated regularly. Search the listings to see roles that match your rotation stage, specialty interest, and preferred city, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
