The registration requires proof of enrollment, a completed application, and a fee. Once registered, you can legally work as a pharmacy intern under pharmacist supervision in New York, accumulating the practical hours required toward eventual licensure as a licensed pharmacist.
How much do pharmacy interns make in New York?

New York's density of academic medical centers, retail chains, and specialty pharmacy operations means intern opportunities exist across clinical, community, and long-term care settings throughout the state.
Which New York cities have the most pharmacy intern jobs?
New York, Staten Island, and Queens have the most pharmacy intern openings in New York. New York City's concentration of academic medical centers, hospital systems, and high-traffic retail pharmacy locations drives the largest share of listings, while Buffalo and Albany generate consistent demand through regional health systems and pharmacy school partnerships anchored in those metros.

Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of pharmacy intern openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the hands-on, patient-facing nature of most pharmacy intern roles.
