Sales Intern Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales intern in New York?
Most sales intern roles in New York require current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program, typically in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. New York does not impose a state-issued license for general sales intern work, so the path centers on applying directly to companies during their spring and fall recruiting cycles. Targeting firms in New York City's financial district, Midtown media companies, and the growing tech corridor in lower Manhattan gives candidates the broadest range of openings.
Which companies hire sales interns in New York?
Employers hiring sales interns in New York right now include HUB International, Intersection, and State Farm, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of financial institutions, global media companies, and enterprise technology firms means intern classes tend to be structured and recurring year over year.
Which New York cities have the most sales intern jobs?
New York, Melville, and Hartsdale have the most sales intern openings in New York. New York City dominates due to the density of corporate headquarters in financial services, advertising, and technology, while Albany draws openings tied to state government vendors and insurance firms, and Buffalo sees volume from regional banks and manufacturing companies with inside sales teams.
Are there remote sales intern jobs in New York?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical roles since sales internships often involve in-person client shadowing, team huddles, and office-based CRM training. About 18% of sales intern openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements more prevalent than fully remote. The tasks most likely to be done off-site are email outreach, research, and lead-list building.
How can I get hired as a sales intern in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to structured internship programs at large New York employers before your junior year, since programs at firms like Bloomberg, Verizon, and major advertising agencies are designed for candidates with no prior sales experience. Campus recruiting events at CUNY, Fordham, and NYU connect students directly with New York hiring managers. Completing a sales simulation course or holding a customer-facing retail or hospitality role in New York strengthens an application when formal experience is absent.
Where can I find and apply to sales intern jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to sales intern jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the New York market. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly from each listing.
