Sales Intern Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales intern in California?
Most sales intern roles in California require current enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor's degree, typically in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. California does not require a state license for general sales internships, but roles in regulated industries such as real estate or insurance do require a California Department of Real Estate license or a California Department of Insurance producer license. Candidates who complete coursework in sales strategy, negotiation, or CRM platforms are consistently preferred by California hiring managers.
Which companies hire sales interns in California?
Employers hiring sales interns in California right now include Buckle, Siemens, and RSM, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's concentration of technology headquarters and high-growth startups means demand for sales interns remains strong year-round, particularly in the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
Which California cities have the most sales intern jobs?
The cities with the most sales intern openings in California are Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Jose. San Francisco leads because of its dense concentration of SaaS and enterprise software companies, Los Angeles draws volume from media, consumer tech, and retail brands, and San Diego supports strong openings through its biotech, defense technology, and cybersecurity sectors where inside sales and business development interns are consistently recruited.
Are there remote sales intern jobs in California?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical fields since most sales internships include team shadowing, in-person client interaction, or office-based training. About 54% of sales intern openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with fully remote roles most common in SaaS sales development and business development research functions that rely on phone and video outreach rather than in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a sales intern in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured summer internship programs at California-headquartered technology and software companies, which regularly recruit candidates with no prior sales experience and provide training from day one. Companies such as Salesforce, Oracle, and Adobe run well-established early-talent programs designed for students and recent graduates. Campus leadership, student organization roles, or part-time retail and customer service work in California are the lateral experiences most likely to open the door, and completing a Salesforce certification or HubSpot sales training course gives candidates a measurable edge in applications.
Where can I find and apply to sales intern jobs in California?
You can find and apply to sales intern jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
