Pharmacy Intern Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a pharmacy intern in Wisconsin?
To become a pharmacy intern in Wisconsin, you must register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board before you begin any intern work. Eligibility requires current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited PharmD program. Once registered, you can work under a Wisconsin-licensed pharmacist in approved settings including retail, hospital, and ambulatory care sites. The Board issues a pharmacy intern permit, which must be renewed annually and is separate from the pharmacist license you will apply for upon graduation.
Which companies hire pharmacy interns in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin pharmacy intern roles are posted by CVS Health, Walgreens, and Advocate Aurora Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Wisconsin's mix of large integrated health systems and high-volume retail pharmacy networks means intern openings appear across both clinical and community settings throughout the state.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most pharmacy intern jobs?
Milwaukee, Madison, and Waukesha have the most pharmacy intern openings in Wisconsin. Milwaukee leads because of its concentration of large health systems and academic medical centers, while Madison's hiring is driven by UW Health and a dense retail pharmacy presence near the university, and Green Bay benefits from the regional reach of employers like Bellin Health and HSHS hospitals anchoring steady community pharmacy demand.
Are there remote pharmacy intern jobs in Wisconsin?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of pharmacy intern openings tied to Wisconsin are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how hands-on the role is by nature. The portions most likely to have remote components are medication therapy management consultations, prior authorization reviews, and certain managed care or specialty pharmacy rotations where patient contact is indirect.
How can I get hired as a pharmacy intern in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a retail pharmacy intern position at a high-volume chain while completing your first or second professional year, since those employers routinely hire students early in their programs. Froedtert Health, UW Health, and SSM Health all run structured intern programs that explicitly consider students without prior pharmacy work history. A completed Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board intern registration and any prior customer-facing or healthcare support role, such as pharmacy technician or medical assistant, gives your application a measurable edge.
Where can I find and apply to pharmacy intern jobs in Wisconsin?
You can find and apply to pharmacy intern jobs in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wisconsin openings. Search the listings to find roles that fit your program year, preferred setting, and location, then apply directly to the ones that match.
