Pharmacy Intern Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a pharmacy intern in Maryland?
To become a pharmacy intern in Maryland, you must register with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy intern before beginning any compensated or supervised intern work. Registration requires current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program. Once registered, you can work under the direct supervision of a licensed Maryland pharmacist, accumulating the intern hours that count toward eventual licensure as a pharmacist in the state.
Which companies hire pharmacy interns in Maryland?
Employers hiring pharmacy interns in Maryland right now include CVS Health, Walgreens, and Safeway, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maryland's concentration of large academic medical centers and integrated health systems means many intern positions involve clinical rotations alongside retail and specialty pharmacy settings.
Which Maryland cities have the most pharmacy intern jobs?
Bowie, Frederick, and Taneytown have the most pharmacy intern openings in Maryland. Baltimore anchors the largest share of listings due to its dense network of academic medical centers and hospital systems, while the DC-adjacent suburbs of Montgomery and Prince George's counties generate strong retail and ambulatory care demand driven by their large, densely populated communities and major health networks headquartered there.
How can I get hired as a pharmacy intern in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to retail pharmacy chains and hospital systems that routinely take first- and second-year pharmacy students, since Maryland Board of Pharmacy intern registration opens that door before you have clinical hours. Large Maryland employers such as Johns Hopkins Health System and University of Maryland Medical System offer structured rotation and intern programs designed for students early in their PharmD. Completing your Maryland intern registration promptly and pursuing a technician role at a retail site first gives you a concrete credential and workflow familiarity that separates you from candidates who apply without any pharmacy floor experience.
Where can I find and apply to pharmacy intern jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to pharmacy intern jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Baltimore, the DC suburbs, and other Maryland markets. Search the listings to find roles that match your program year, preferred setting, and availability, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
