Sales Intern Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales intern in Maryland?
Most sales intern roles in Maryland require active enrollment in a bachelor's program, typically in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. Maryland does not require a state-issued license for general sales internships, though insurance-focused roles may eventually require a Maryland Property and Casualty or Life and Health producer license through the Maryland Insurance Administration. Candidates who complete coursework in sales strategy or earn CRM certifications gain a competitive edge with Maryland employers in tech, defense, and healthcare.
Which companies hire sales interns in Maryland?
Employers hiring sales interns in Maryland right now include CVS Health, Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, and Walgreens, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maryland's concentration of defense contractors, health insurers, and cybersecurity firms means many of these internships are oriented toward B2B, government, or health plan sales tracks.
Which Maryland cities have the most sales intern jobs?
Baltimore, Frederick, and Columbia lead Maryland for sales intern openings. Baltimore anchors the most listings because of its large healthcare and financial services employers, while Bethesda and the broader DC suburbs attract defense and technology contractor roles that frequently include sales and business development interns within their early-career programs.
Are there remote sales intern jobs in Maryland?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical roles because many Maryland sales internships involve in-person client meetings, team shadowing, or on-site training. About 37% of sales intern openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the remote portion most likely in inside sales support, sales operations, or SaaS sales development functions.
How can I get hired as a sales intern in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured internship programs at large Maryland employers, such as the early-career development programs run by CareFirst, Leidos, or T. Rowe Price, which are explicitly designed for candidates without prior sales experience. Joining a university sales club or competition team signals genuine interest. Lateral experience in retail, customer service, or campus ambassador work translates well, and earning a free CRM platform certification before applying gives Maryland hiring managers a concrete reason to take a chance on a newer candidate.
Where can I find and apply to sales intern jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to sales intern jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings across industries including technology, defense, healthcare, and financial services. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
