Accounting Intern Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounting intern in Maryland?
Most accounting intern roles in Maryland require active enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in accounting, finance, or a related business field at an accredited institution. Maryland does not require a state license to work as an intern, but candidates pursuing a CPA path should note that the Maryland Board of Public Accountancy sets the education and exam requirements you will eventually need. Strong academic standing and completed coursework in financial accounting give applicants a meaningful edge.
Which companies hire accounting interns in Maryland?
Maryland accounting intern roles are posted by CFG Bank, D.R. Horton, and Enterprise Mobility and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Maryland's concentration of federal contractors, financial institutions, and large healthcare networks means accounting intern demand is spread across a diverse range of industries rather than clustering in a single sector.
Which Maryland cities have the most accounting intern jobs?
Baltimore, Bethesda, and Edgewater have the most accounting intern openings in Maryland. Baltimore drives the largest share through its dense mix of healthcare systems, regional banks, and corporate headquarters, while the Washington suburban corridor around Bethesda and Rockville adds volume from federal contractors and professional services firms that anchor that part of the state.
How can I get hired as a accounting intern in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to formal internship programs at Maryland's large employers before completing your junior year. Firms like T. Rowe Price, Leidos, and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield run structured summer programs that do not require prior professional accounting experience, only coursework progress. Campus involvement in the Maryland Association of CPAs student programs or volunteer income tax assistance sites run through Maryland universities can substitute for paid experience and signals genuine initiative to hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to accounting intern jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to accounting intern jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings updated in real time. Search the listings to find roles that match your schedule, location preference, and coursework focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit your situation.
