Duties
- Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and capillary techniques, ensuring proper aseptic procedures
- Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, following strict handling protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of specimen collection.
- Monitor vital signs when necessary, and assess patient physiology to ensure safe collection procedures
- Follow laboratory procedures and techniques to uphold quality standards and minimize specimen contamination or error
- Handle specimens with care during transport and storage, adhering to safety guidelines and biohazard regulation.
Experience
- Proven laboratory experience with a focus on phlebotomy or clinical specimen collection in a healthcare setting
- Hands-on experience with venipuncture.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to blood collection procedures
