Physical Therapist Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physical therapist job in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville's strongest hiring comes from its large hospital networks, outpatient orthopedic and sports rehab clinics in Southside and Mandarin, and a growing home health sector serving the region's older population. Candidates with orthopedic, neuro, or geriatric experience tend to move fastest here. Tailoring your application to each employer's patient population and getting familiar with the Jacksonville market's mix of pediatric and adult settings gives you a real edge.
Which companies hire physical therapists in Jacksonville?
Employers hiring physical therapists in Jacksonville right now include Sequoia Care, Brooks Rehabilitation, and HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's employer mix leans heavily toward large integrated health systems, specialty outpatient groups, and regional home health agencies serving both urban and coastal communities.
Are there remote physical therapist jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, but with significant limits, since hands-on patient care makes most physical therapist roles inherently on-site. About 50% of physical therapist openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve telehealth follow-ups, care coordination, or utilization review rather than direct treatment.
How can I get a physical therapist job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through PRN or per-diem roles at outpatient clinics and home health agencies, which hire new graduates more readily than large hospital systems. Jacksonville's rehabilitation facilities and skilled nursing communities also bring on entry-level therapists regularly. Completing clinical rotations locally, building connections through the University of North Florida or area continuing education programs, and pursuing orthopedic or neuro certifications early strengthens your candidacy considerably.
