X-Ray Tech Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a x-ray tech in Florida?
To become an x-ray tech in Florida, you must complete an accredited radiologic technology program, pass the ARRT certification exam, and obtain a Florida radiologic technology license through the Florida Department of Health. The state license is mandatory before you can practice independently. Most accredited programs are associate-degree level and take about two years to complete, and many Florida community colleges and hospital-based schools offer them.
Which companies hire x-ray techs in Florida?
Companies currently hiring x-ray techs in Florida include CareSpot Urgent Care, MD Now Urgent Care, and Voyage Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's large hospital networks and outpatient imaging chains consistently post openings across multiple facilities throughout the state.
Which Florida cities have the most x-ray tech jobs?
Bradenton, Jacksonville, and Orlando have the highest concentration of x-ray tech openings in Florida. The distribution reflects where the state's largest hospital systems and outpatient imaging networks are headquartered and operate, with major metro areas driving consistent demand while suburban and secondary markets around them generate additional openings tied to satellite facilities and urgent care expansion.
Are there remote x-ray tech jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. X-ray techs work directly with patients and equipment, so the vast majority of positions require on-site presence. About 0% of x-ray tech openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those roles are almost exclusively in teleradiology support, quality review, or administrative imaging coordination rather than hands-on patient care.
How can I get hired as a x-ray tech in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to new-grad programs at Florida hospital systems such as AdventHealth or HCA Florida, which run structured onboarding for recently certified technologists. Community imaging centers and urgent care networks in Florida frequently hire new ARRT-certified grads for general rad positions. Lateral moves from radiology aide or patient transport roles within a facility are another common door, and holding an active Florida Department of Health license before applying gives you a clear edge over unlicensed candidates.
