Physical Therapist Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physical therapist job in Atlanta?
Atlanta's strongest hiring comes from its major hospital systems, outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics, and the growing network of home health agencies serving the metro area. Concentrations of openings cluster in Midtown and Buckhead near the city's medical corridors, and in the northern suburbs around Sandy Springs and Dunwoody. Candidates with orthopedic, neurological, or sports rehab experience tend to move faster through hiring, and bilingual ability is a growing plus given Atlanta's patient population.
Which companies hire physical therapists in Atlanta?
Employers hiring physical therapists in Atlanta right now include Emory Healthcare, American Traveler, and Shepherd Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Atlanta's mix of large academic medical centers, regional hospital networks, and independently owned outpatient practices means openings range from high-volume clinical settings to smaller specialty-focused clinics.
Are there remote physical therapist jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though options are limited since most physical therapist roles require direct hands-on patient care. About 0% of physical therapist openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these tend to be in telehealth triage, clinical documentation review, or case management rather than direct treatment roles.
How can I get a physical therapist job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is securing a clinical rotation or residency at one of the city's hospital systems or large outpatient groups, which frequently convert strong students into new-grad hires. Atlanta-area employers at Piedmont Healthcare and Emory's affiliated clinics regularly take on new graduates, and SNF and home health agencies in the metro area are particularly open to candidates without extensive experience. Demonstrating familiarity with Atlanta's patient demographics and a specific clinical focus helps distinguish new applicants.
Which industries hire the most physical therapists in Atlanta?
The sectors hiring the most physical therapists in Atlanta are Healthcare & Medical Services and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Atlanta's role as a regional healthcare hub, combined with its large and aging suburban population and concentration of sports and orthopedic practices, drives sustained demand across these sectors.
