How do I get a physical therapist job in St. Louis?
Focus your search on St. Louis's dense network of hospital systems, outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and school districts, which collectively drive most local hiring. The Central West End, Clayton, and the South City corridor see consistent demand. Candidates who hold manual therapy certifications, speak to neurological or pediatric caseload experience, or have worked in high-volume outpatient settings tend to stand out in this market.
Which companies hire physical therapists in St. Louis?
Companies currently hiring physical therapists in St. Louis include HiredFirst, Reliant Rehabilitation, and SSM Health Physical Therapy, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local employer mix reflects St. Louis's role as a regional medical hub, with health systems, specialty rehabilitation groups, and long-term care networks all maintaining active physical therapist headcount throughout the year.
Are there remote physical therapist jobs in St. Louis?
Remote work is uncommon for physical therapists given the hands-on, patient-facing nature of most roles. About 13% of physical therapist openings tied to St. Louis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with those positions typically involving telehealth consultations, utilization review, or clinical documentation roles rather than direct patient care.
How can I get a physical therapist job in St. Louis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through clinical rotation connections at St. Louis's hospital systems and outpatient orthopedic groups, many of which convert strong rotation students into new graduate hires. Skilled nursing facilities and home health agencies in the metro area are also consistent entry-level employers and tend to offer structured mentorship. Completing rotations at St. Louis institutions and building relationships with local clinical supervisors gives new graduates a meaningful hiring edge.
