How do I get a physical therapy assistant job in San Antonio?
The strongest entry point in San Antonio is targeting the South Texas Medical Center corridor, where hospital systems, outpatient rehab clinics, and specialty practices concentrate the most openings. Candidates who have hands-on experience in orthopedic or geriatric settings tend to stand out, since those patient populations drive heavy demand here. Applying directly to skilled nursing facilities and home health agencies in the North San Antonio and Stone Oak areas is another reliable path.
Which companies hire physical therapy assistants in San Antonio?
Companies currently hiring physical therapy assistants in San Antonio include CHRISTUS Health, Tenet Healthcare, and All County Home Health and Hospice, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. San Antonio's hiring base draws from a mix of large hospital networks, multi-site outpatient rehab groups, and long-term care operators serving the city's sizable military-connected and senior populations.
Are there remote physical therapy assistant jobs in San Antonio?
Yes, though they are rare, since physical therapy assistant work is fundamentally hands-on and requires direct patient contact. About 0% of physical therapy assistant openings tied to San Antonio are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles typically involve documentation support, care coordination, or telehealth intake rather than direct treatment. Clinics affiliated with larger San Antonio hospital systems are most likely to offer hybrid administrative components.
How can I get a physical therapy assistant job in San Antonio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in San Antonio is applying for rehabilitation aide or therapy technician roles at skilled nursing facilities and long-term care centers, which hire entry-level candidates and frequently promote from within. San Antonio's large network of military-affiliated clinics and Veterans Affairs facilities also tends to be open to candidates completing clinical hours.
