Description
This is a contract, on-site position designed for an Associate-level physician ready to deliver high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
As a Locum Emergency Medicine physician, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries, providing timely and compassionate care. You will work closely with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and consultants to ensure seamless patient management and positive outcomes across the medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with emergency conditions
- Perform timely triage and prioritize care based on clinical urgency
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and imaging studies
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans for acute medical conditions
- Perform emergency procedures and interventions as clinically indicated
- Document patient encounters accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with nursing, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans
- Make appropriate admission, transfer, or discharge decisions
- Adhere to clinical protocols, quality standards, and patient safety guidelines
- Participate in ongoing medical education and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine or equivalent credential
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States
- Active DEA registration and relevant state controlled substance licensure
- Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Prior experience in emergency department settings, preferably at the associate level
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based emergency care

Patient Volume: 10 per shift
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
DEA, BLS, PALS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications required
NRP certification preferred
