Board certification through the American Board of Emergency Medicine is expected by most Minnesota health systems. You will also need a DEA registration and Minnesota controlled substance prescribing authority before starting clinical work.
How much do physician - emergency medicines make in Minnesota?

Which companies hire physician - emergency medicines in Minnesota?
Minnesota physician - emergency medicine roles are posted by Mayo Clinic, Sanford Health, and University of Minnesota Physicians and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Minnesota's largest hiring activity is concentrated among integrated health systems and academic medical centers that staff high-volume emergency departments across the metro and in regional hubs.
Which Minnesota cities have the most physician - emergency medicine jobs?
Minneapolis, Rochester, and Mankato lead Minnesota for physician - emergency medicine openings. The Twin Cities metro drives the largest share of volume because of the density of major health systems and trauma centers there, while Rochester anchors demand in southeastern Minnesota through Mayo Clinic's large and consistently staffed emergency and urgent care enterprise.
Are there remote physician - emergency medicine jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, but they're rare. About 8% of physician - emergency medicine openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how hands-on and facility-bound emergency medicine practice is by nature. The portion of the role most suited to remote work is telemedicine triage or asynchronous medical directorship, which a small number of Minnesota systems have formalized.
How can I get hired as a physician - emergency medicine in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic path for physicians early in their career is applying during or immediately after residency through new-graduate or new-to-practice hiring tracks that large Minnesota systems like Hennepin Healthcare and M Health Fairview run on a recurring cycle. Completing a fellowship in emergency medicine or an adjacent specialty such as critical care or emergency medical services strengthens candidacy significantly. Starting in a community or critical access hospital in Greater Minnesota is another common entry point that builds volume experience before transitioning to a busier urban department.
Where can I find and apply to physician - emergency medicine jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to physician - emergency medicine jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current Minnesota openings across health systems, academic medical centers, and community hospitals. Find roles that fit your training and preferred location and apply directly to each posting.
