Physician Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physician job in Phoenix?
The strongest hiring in Phoenix runs through its large health systems, independent multispecialty groups, and the network of outpatient clinics that have expanded rapidly across the metro. Physicians with experience in primary care, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or behavioral health have the most openings to target. Concentrating your search on Midtown, the West Valley, and the rapidly growing Southeast Valley suburbs gives you access to the highest volume of active roles.
Which companies hire physicians in Phoenix?
Companies currently hiring physicians in Phoenix include TeamHealth, Phoenix Children's, and University of Arizona, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's market is shaped by a mix of large integrated health systems, physician-owned multispecialty practices, and national hospital management groups that have established significant operations across the metro.
Are there remote physician jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited for clinical roles that require direct patient contact. About 26% of physician openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, concentrated in telehealth, utilization review, and medical director positions. Phoenix-based health plans and managed care organizations are the most consistent source of fully remote physician work in the local market.
How can I get a physician job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is through residency-to-employment pipelines at the city's teaching hospitals and academic medical programs, which regularly convert trainees into attending physicians. Early-career physicians also find footholds at federally qualified health centers serving Phoenix's underserved communities, urgent care chains expanding across the East Valley, and locum tenens agencies that place new attendings in short-term Phoenix assignments while they build their record.
Which industries hire the most physicians in Phoenix?
The sectors hiring the most physicians in Phoenix are Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's role as the healthcare hub for the broader Southwest, combined with its fast-growing and aging population, keeps demand elevated across both inpatient and ambulatory settings throughout the metro.
