Physician Jobs in Arlington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physician job in Arlington?
Focus your search on the hospital systems and specialty clinics clustered along the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor and in Pentagon City, as well as federal health contractors based near Crystal City. Board certification in a high-demand specialty such as primary care, emergency medicine, or psychiatry strengthens your candidacy. Physicians who have experience with VA or federally affiliated patient populations tend to stand out in Arlington's market.
Which companies hire physicians in Arlington?
Arlington physician roles are posted by Privia Medical, LiveWell Homecare Agency, and Nestlé USA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market includes a mix of integrated health systems, federally affiliated medical centers, and multi-specialty outpatient groups that serve both civilian and military-connected populations.
Are there remote physician jobs in Arlington?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited for clinical roles requiring direct patient care. About 0% of physician openings tied to Arlington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with most flexibility found in telehealth, utilization review, and medical consulting positions. Federal health contractors in the area have been among the more active sources of hybrid physician-adjacent roles.
How can I get a physician job in Arlington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Arlington is through residency-affiliated programs at local hospital systems or federally funded community health centers, which regularly bring on newly licensed physicians. Outpatient primary care clinics and urgent care groups in the Ballston and Columbia Pike corridors also hire physicians completing their first post-residency position. Familiarity with federally insured patient populations and electronic health record systems common in the DC metro area gives early-career candidates a practical edge.
