Who's Hiring

Planner Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a planner job in Columbus?
Target Columbus's three strongest hiring clusters: city and regional government agencies, large healthcare systems, and supply chain operations tied to the region's logistics corridor. Roles in urban and transportation planning concentrate Downtown and in the Franklinton redevelopment zone, while supply chain and demand planning roles sit primarily in the Easton and Polaris corridors. Candidates with GIS proficiency, strong data analysis skills, or experience with Columbus's zoning frameworks consistently stand out in local hiring.
Which companies hire planners in Columbus?
Columbus planner roles are posted by Peak Retirement Planning, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and NBBJ and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Columbus's mix of public agencies, major health systems, and distribution-heavy employers means demand stretches from traditional urban planning to supply chain and project planning roles.
Are there remote planner jobs in Columbus?
Yes, though it depends heavily on the type of planner role. Desk-based work such as demand planning, financial planning, and project planning is more frequently remote or hybrid, while urban, site, and transportation planning roles almost always require on-site presence. About 0% of planner openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Analytical and data-driven planning functions are the most consistently remote in the Columbus market.
How can I get a planner job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Columbus is through coordinator or analyst roles at city agencies, healthcare operations teams, or logistics companies, where planning responsibility grows on the job. Columbus City Planning and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission occasionally take interns and entry-level staff. On the private side, distribution and e-commerce employers in the Rickenbacker and Easton corridors regularly hire junior supply chain planners. A certificate in GIS or project management gives applicants a concrete edge when competing for these openings.
