- Drive research projects independently and manage all data flows and associated reporting.
- Work closely with a team of engineers, geologists, contractors and others to (a) advance process models and simulations on sound assumptions and reliable test data, (b) optimize project cost and accelerate development timelines, and (c) participate in trade-off-studies that provides solid information and feedback to the whole team.
- Support the evaluation and selection of advance technologies through cost/benefit analysis.
- Challenge team members and ideas in a constructive manner to foster an environment of innovation.
- Engage with relevant contractors or vendors as required.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or relevant degree required; Masters or PhD strongly preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated work experience in an industrial research role, preferable in mining or mineral processing or hydrometallurgy.
- Strong understanding of mineral process engineering principles, unit operations and hydrometallurgy equipment selection & testing, and process development experience.
- Experience in research and development and managing technical data.
- Personal commitment to Lithium Americas’ core cultural values of safety, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.
- Familiarity with analytical instrumentation and other characterization methods typically used in metallurgical processes.
- Impeccable organizational skills in data collection, analytics, management and reporting.
- Effective and open communication with the ability motivate team members toward a goal within a flat reporting structure.
- Demonstrated ability in developing creative solutions for addressing engineering challenges and executing upon them.
- Ability to multi-task and run several projects in parallel, while prioritizing and pursuing critical-path tasks on an accelerating schedule.

Process Engineer Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a process engineer in Nevada?
Most Nevada process engineer roles require a bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineering from an ABET-accredited program. From there, candidates pursuing licensure register with the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, accumulate qualifying work experience, and then sit for the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam. Many Nevada employers hire engineers who are in the process of meeting those requirements.
Which companies hire process engineers in Nevada?
Companies currently hiring process engineers in Nevada include Tesla, Panasonic, and Nevada Gold Mines, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Nevada's mix of semiconductor fabs, mining operations, and large-scale manufacturing plants means demand is spread across several distinct industry sectors rather than concentrated in one.
Which Nevada cities have the most process engineer jobs?
Sparks, Las Vegas, and Elko have the most process engineer openings in Nevada. The Las Vegas and Henderson areas anchor demand through semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, and a large construction materials sector, while Reno-Sparks benefits from the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, one of the largest industrial parks in the country, which hosts battery, technology, and advanced manufacturing employers.
Are there remote process engineer jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. Process engineering is fundamentally a hands-on discipline tied to physical equipment, production lines, and plant floors, so most roles require on-site presence. About 9% of process engineer openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to cover documentation-heavy or continuous improvement work that does not require daily plant access.
How can I get hired as a process engineer in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a process engineer associate or junior process engineer role at one of Nevada's large industrial employers, particularly the semiconductor and battery manufacturing facilities in the Reno-Tahoe Industrial Center or the food and beverage plants near Las Vegas. Completing an internship or co-op during your degree, earning a Lean Six Sigma White or Yellow Belt credential, and targeting lateral roles like manufacturing technician or quality technician can help candidates without direct engineering experience get a foot in the door.
Where can I find and apply to process engineer jobs in Nevada?
You can find and apply to process engineer jobs in Nevada on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nevada openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and location, and apply directly to whichever positions fit.
