About Base
Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
About the Role
Base is looking for a Deployment Engineer to architect the process for rapid deployments of hardware throughout the state of Texas. This pivotal role is focused on ensuring a positive customer experience and increased uptime of battery systems.
What You'll Do
Audit data with SQL or similar tools to ensure the integrity and accuracy of deployment-related data across various systems.
Design and implement internal processes for scaling the deployment pipeline, focusing on data collection, quality assurance, and workflow efficiency.
Build internal tools and dashboards (e.g., using Python, JavaScript, and various dashboarding platforms) to automate workflows and provide real-time visibility into key operational metrics.
Perform data analytics on the deployment pipeline to identify bottlenecks, measure process effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to translate operational needs into technical requirements for internal tools and data models.
Set up and maintain data collection systems that enable comprehensive tracking of hardware deployment and performance.
Develop and maintain documentation for internal tools, data models, and new operational processes.
What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience in a role focused on data analysis, process engineering, or internal tools development.
Comfortable with SQL or similar database query languages; ability to write complex queries to extract and analyze data.
A strong data-driven mindset and proven ability to transform data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
Demonstrated experience in building and developing processes that are scalable, repeatable, and documented.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for tool development and data manipulation.
Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Metabase).
About the Team
The Deployments team is responsible for getting Base’s battery systems from our facilities into customers’ homes safely, efficiently, and at scale. The team sits at the intersection of hardware, software, data, and field operations, building the systems and processes that power deployment from start to finish.
Deployment Engineers tackle the technical and operational challenges that come with scaling a rapidly growing physical operation. You’ll work closely with field teams and engineers to understand what’s happening on the ground, use data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities, and build the tools and processes that make deployments faster, more reliable, and easier to operate.
This is a highly cross-functional and hands-on team. You’ll have significant ownership over how we operate today while helping architect the systems we’ll need as Base expands into new markets and deploys batteries at increasingly greater scale.
Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.
Our Values
First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.
Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.
Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.
Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.
Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.
Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.
Do the best work of your life at Base.

Process Engineer Jobs in Austin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a process engineer job in Austin?
Focus your search on Austin's semiconductor and advanced manufacturing employers clustered in North Austin and the Domain, plus the growing clean energy and biotech firms along the East Riverside corridor. Hands-on experience with process optimization, Six Sigma, or semiconductor fabrication tools gives candidates the clearest edge in this market. Certifications in Lean manufacturing or chemical process safety are particularly valued by local employers in those sectors.
Which companies hire process engineers in Austin?
Austin process engineer roles are posted by Tesla, Lam Research, and Samsung Electronics and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Austin's mix of semiconductor fabs, consumer electronics manufacturers, biotech firms, and expanding clean energy companies creates consistent demand across both large employers and mid-size specialty operations.
Are there remote process engineer jobs in Austin?
Yes, but with significant limits, since process engineering is largely hands-on and tied to physical production equipment. About 4% of process engineer openings tied to Austin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to concentrate in analytical, documentation, or quality systems roles rather than floor-level process work. Austin's semiconductor and manufacturing employers generally require on-site presence for core engineering duties.
How can I get a process engineer job in Austin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Austin is targeting associate or junior process engineer roles at the city's semiconductor and advanced manufacturing firms, many of which hire recent engineering graduates directly. Austin Community College and UT Austin cooperative programs connect students with local employers in the Domain and North Austin corridors. Starting in quality control, production technician, or process technician roles at those same employers is a common local stepping stone to a full engineering position.
Which industries hire the most process engineers in Austin?
Most process engineer openings in Austin sit in Manufacturing, Technology & Software, and Electronics & Hardware, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Austin's identity as a semiconductor and advanced technology manufacturing hub, combined with its expanding clean energy and biotech presence, drives sustained hiring for process engineers across those sectors.
