Procurement Jobs in Irvine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a procurement job in Irvine?
Focus your search on the sectors that drive Irvine's procurement market: defense contractors, medical device manufacturers, semiconductor and tech firms, and third-party logistics providers clustered around the Irvine Spectrum and John Wayne Airport corridor. Candidates who combine category-specific sourcing experience with ERP proficiency tend to stand out. Familiarity with FAR or ITAR requirements gives a meaningful edge when targeting Irvine's substantial defense and aerospace supplier base.
Which companies hire procurements in Irvine?
Companies currently hiring procurements in Irvine include GLOVIS America, ABL, and TRL11, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Irvine's employer mix skews toward large OEMs, global medical device firms, and regional distribution and logistics operations, many of which maintain dedicated procurement and supply chain teams locally.
Are there remote procurement jobs in Irvine?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role, with strategic sourcing and supplier analytics positions more commonly offered remotely than hands-on receiving, inventory, or manufacturing procurement roles. About 0% of procurement openings tied to Irvine are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Category management and indirect spend roles at Irvine's tech and healthcare employers are where remote arrangements appear most frequently.
How can I get a procurement job in Irvine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Irvine is landing a purchasing coordinator or supply chain analyst role at one of the city's many medical device or consumer electronics companies, which routinely hire recent graduates and train them on internal systems. UC Irvine's business and supply chain programs have alumni networks that feed directly into local hiring pipelines. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with an ERP platform, even from coursework, signals readiness to Irvine employers faster than credentials alone.
Which industries hire the most procurements in Irvine?
The sectors hiring the most procurements in Irvine are Automotive, Transportation & Logistics, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Irvine's concentration of defense primes, medical device OEMs, and regional distribution centers creates sustained, year-round procurement demand across both direct materials and indirect spend categories.
