Procurement Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a procurement job in Raleigh?
Focus on the sectors driving the most local demand: life sciences and biotech companies clustered near Research Triangle Park, state and local government agencies headquartered downtown, and the defense and IT contractors concentrated in the North Hills and Cary corridor. Candidates with experience in contract management, supplier diversity, or category management stand out here, and familiarity with public procurement regulations is a meaningful edge for government-adjacent roles.
Which companies hire procurements in Raleigh?
Companies currently hiring procurements in Raleigh include AtkinsRéalis, CRB, and PwC, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Raleigh's hiring pool is broad, running from large pharmaceutical and technology firms near Research Triangle Park to state agencies and universities looking for procurement analysts and contracting specialists.
Are there remote procurement jobs in Raleigh?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role. Strategic sourcing, spend analysis, and contract administration lend themselves to remote work, while roles tied to receiving docks, labs, or physical inventory are typically on-site. About 33% of procurement openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Hybrid arrangements are most common among Raleigh's tech and professional services employers.
How can I get a procurement job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Raleigh is a purchasing assistant or procurement coordinator role at a mid-size manufacturer, university, or county agency, where training tends to be more structured than at large corporations. NC State University and Wake County government both run procurement operations that occasionally bring in entry-level analysts. Lateral moves from accounts payable, inventory control, or vendor support roles are common stepping stones, and earning a Certified Purchasing Professional credential early signals seriousness to local hiring managers.

The sectors hiring the most procurements in Raleigh are Agriculture & Farming, Technology & Software, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Raleigh's concentration of research institutions, state government offices, and a rapidly growing tech and life sciences base keeps procurement demand steady across both public-sector and corporate employers.
