Job Overview:
The Competitive Operations Leader builds and scales competitive service execution capabilities across the Ingersoll Rand Channel, ensuring teams have the processes, training, tools, technical resources, and supply chain readiness needed to support all assets. This role connects strategy to field execution by improving agreement support, vendor and acquisition onboarding, technician enablement, and root-cause resolution across Service, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, Sales Enablement, and Customer Center teams.
Responsibilities:
Channel Capability Development
- Develop and execute a roadmap to grow competitive services capability across sales channels.
- Identify capability gaps by region and product category; implement corrective actions with Service Operations and Training teams.
- Create and maintain technical training, job aids, service bulletins, and standardized work for competitive equipment support.
Competitive Service Agreement Execution
- Monitor competitive service agreement execution, trends, profitability, and customer-impacting issues. Serve as the escalation point for execution challenges and lead structured root-cause resolution.
Supply Chain Process Setup for New Vendors & Acquisitions
- Partner cross-functionally to document scalable processes, close readiness gaps, and enable channels to quote, order, stock, and service competitive products.
- Partner with Sourcing on end-to-end supply chain process setup for new competitive vendors, supplier partnerships, and acquisitions.
- Define ordering, sourcing, stocking, fulfillment, pricing, part identification, and escalation workflows before launch or integration.
Competitive Intelligence & Crowdsourcing
- Establish repeatable processes for collecting, validating, and sharing competitive insights and field feedback.
Training & Knowledge Management
- Own competitive services knowledge management, including learning pathways and technical content.
- Coordinate pilot programs and field validation of new tools, training, and execution processes.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Product Management, Sales Enablement, Service Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Center leadership to support launches and strategic initiatives. Communicate performance metrics, key learnings, and capability improvements to leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Technical Services, Operations, or related field. 7+ years in industrial service, aftermarket operations, technical support, product management, service training, supply chain, or related field.
Core Competencies:
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and root-cause problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority; willingness to travel as needed.
Preference:
- Experience with compressed air systems, aftermarket service operations, service agreements, or recurring service programs.
- Familiarity with field service processes, competitive equipment, technician training, Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint, or learning management systems.
