DESCRIPTION
As Amazon rapidly becomes the world's largest consumer of corporate services, our Global Corporate Procurement team is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team.
Strategic Sourcing Specialists, working under the general direction of more senior team members, manage strategic sourcing engagements as a central team supporting a wide range of Amazon and subsidiary business units.
In this pivotal role, you'll design innovative sourcing strategies and lead sourcing engagements across a wide range of business units. Your mission? Improve performance, optimize efficiency, ensure top-notch quality, and enable new initiatives to launch and scale with lightning speed.

Key job responsibilities
- Establishing strong relationships with internal business partners; building a robust understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories.
- Supporting execution of sourcing events across all indirect spend categories
- Delivering savings and increased spend under management by driving adoption of a automated self-service sourcing technology application
- Supporting enhancements and the product development roadmap of the self-service sourcing application based upon purchasing history and stakeholder sourcing requirements
- Managing the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
- Working with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, focusing on total cost of ownership.
- Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies; maintaining procurement ethics in accordance with Amazon’s global policies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of supply chain management, planning, strategic sourcing, commodity management or program management experience
- Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis
- Experience with spend analysis and category management across indirect spend categories
- Proficiency with e-sourcing or procurement technology platforms (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, Fairmarkit, or similar)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience building and utilizing a variety of sourcing plans and tools, including proactive phone and internet research
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results, or experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting financial results across multiple business areas
- 5+ years of developing diverse supplier strategies and executing on sourcing activities experience
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in a large-scale corporate or technology environment
- Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable cost savings and increasing spend under management
- Experience with practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret purchasing data and identify savings opportunities

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
