Producer Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a producer job in Chicago?
The strongest path into Chicago's producer market runs through its advertising and branded content scene, which is anchored in the West Loop and River North. Agency experience, even at the coordinator level, translates directly to production roles at studios and in-house teams. Familiarity with Chicago's event and live entertainment sector is a genuine differentiator, as is a portfolio that shows local client work or location-specific production.
Which companies hire producers in Chicago?
Companies currently hiring producers in Chicago include Audacy, Fox Corporation, and Aon, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Chicago's employer mix leans toward mid-size agencies, regional broadcast groups, and in-house creative teams at large corporations headquartered downtown.
Are there remote producer jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the type of production work. About 59% of producer openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote work most common in post-production, digital content, and project management roles. On-set, live event, and studio-based positions almost always require in-person presence at Chicago facilities.
How can I get a producer job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Chicago is a production assistant or coordinator role at a local agency or studio in Fulton Market or the West Loop. Chicago's strong advertising community and its film and television production incentive programs create consistent entry-level openings. Building a reel through freelance work for local nonprofits, independent filmmakers, or Chicago-based podcast networks can substitute for formal credentials when applying to smaller shops.
Which industries hire the most producers in Chicago?
Most producer openings in Chicago sit in Insurance, Media & Entertainment, and Marketing & Advertising, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Chicago's role as a major advertising hub and a growing destination for streaming and branded content production drives concentrated demand in those sectors.
