You'll work within a project-based team structure in a matrix organization, with your time shared across multiple concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities
RFQ support:
- Work with our China team to develop design proposals that solve the customer's problem and demonstrate GoerTek's design capability, then present them to the customer.
- Respond quickly to customer design questions and keep communication flowing between the customer and our China R&D team.
- Take on technical requests from either the China team or the customer as projects require.
NPI support:
- Join projects as the PD engineer, creating and reviewing 3D databases and drawings in Pro/E (Creo) to customer specification.

- Partner with the U.S. and China sales teams to open new opportunities, resolving customers' technical questions and showcasing GoerTek's R&D strength.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years designing consumer electronics — wearables, audio, eyewear, drones, or similar.

- A track record across the full design and development cycle for consumer electronics.
- Proficiency with Pro/E (Creo) and UG (NX).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Clear communicator who works well on a team.
- Fluent in conversational Mandarin is highly desired.
- Travel at our HQ or customers’ request.
The base pay range for this role is between $127,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Mid Level Product Design Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level product design manager job?
Position your existing work around ownership and outcomes. Highlight projects where you led the design process from discovery through delivery, made calls without waiting for direction, and influenced product direction across functions. Recruiters at this level want to see that you can manage ambiguity, not just execute tasks. Tailor your portfolio to show decisions, not just deliverables, and name the business impact your work created.
Which companies hire mid level product design managers?
Companies hiring mid level product design managers right now include Apple, Meltwater, and Figma, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of growth-stage technology companies and established enterprises building or scaling dedicated design functions.
Are there remote mid level product design manager jobs?
Yes, and the share is substantial. About 26% of mid level product design manager openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed design teams have become. Fully remote roles tend to concentrate at companies with mature async workflows, while hybrid arrangements are more common at firms with established office footprints.
How do I move up to a mid level product design manager role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built on accumulated ownership. Early-career designers grow into mid level by progressively taking on larger scopes, leading discrete features rather than executing subtasks, and developing a habit of connecting design choices to measurable product outcomes. Mentoring newer designers and demonstrating cross-functional influence, particularly with product and engineering counterparts, signals readiness for the step up.
Which industries hire the most mid level product design managers?
Mid Level product design manager roles concentrate in Electronics & Hardware, Technology & Software, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate product-led organizations where design ownership at the feature level is a core part of how teams ship.
