Program Coordinator Jobs in Tampa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a program coordinator job in Tampa?
Focus your search on Tampa's strongest hiring sectors: healthcare systems, nonprofit organizations, local government agencies, and higher education institutions clustered near USF and downtown. Tailoring your resume to show project tracking, stakeholder communication, and budget coordination gives you an edge. Candidates with experience in grant-funded programs or community services stand out, since many Tampa openings sit inside mission-driven organizations that value both administrative skill and program knowledge.
Which companies hire program coordinators in Tampa?
Companies currently hiring program coordinators in Tampa include Tampa General Hospital, University of South Florida Tampa General Physicians, and Spathe Systems, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Tampa's mix of major hospital networks, regional nonprofits, defense contractors in the Westshore corridor, and state agency offices creates consistent demand across a wide range of employer types.
Are there remote program coordinator jobs in Tampa?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type since hands-on program work tied to in-person services rarely goes fully remote, while administrative and grant-coordination roles often do. About 57% of program coordinator openings tied to Tampa are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Roles involving data reporting, funder compliance, or virtual case management are the most likely to offer remote flexibility in Tampa's current market.
How can I get a program coordinator job in Tampa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tampa is through coordinator assistant or program specialist roles at nonprofits and social services agencies, many of which prioritize mission alignment and volunteer experience over formal credentials. Tampa organizations like community health centers, workforce development programs, and USF-affiliated initiatives regularly hire candidates moving up from administrative or case management roles. Building familiarity with grant reporting tools and database platforms used locally, such as Salesforce or Apricot, strengthens entry-level applications considerably.
