Project Accountant Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project accountant job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's construction and development firms, commercial real estate companies, energy contractors, and large professional services practices, where project accountant demand runs consistently high. The Uptown, Frisco, and Las Colinas corridors hold a dense concentration of employers. Candidates who know project cost tracking, job costing software like Viewpoint or Sage, and can read construction draw schedules have a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire project accountants in Dallas?
Companies currently hiring project accountants in Dallas include HITT Contracting, Corgan, and Pariveda, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Dallas's mix of national general contractors, regional real estate developers, and large energy firms means steady, diverse demand for project accounting talent across multiple sectors.
Are there remote project accountant jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role's nature, since project accountants tied to active construction sites or development draws are usually required on-site or nearby. About 100% of project accountant openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. The most remote-friendly work involves financial reporting, budget reconciliation, and billing for professional services firms rather than field-based construction projects.
How can I get a project accountant job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is landing a staff accountant or accounts payable role at a construction firm or real estate developer, then moving laterally into project cost tracking. Smaller regional contractors along the Stemmons Corridor and suburban Frisco developers often hire entry-level candidates willing to learn job costing. Familiarity with Procore, Sage 300, or CMiC and a degree in accounting or finance makes candidates significantly more competitive locally.
