Project Architect Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project architect job in Phoenix?
Focus your search on Phoenix's commercial and healthcare construction sectors, which drive the most consistent project architect hiring in the city. Firms based in Midtown and the Camelback Corridor regularly recruit for ground-up commercial, multifamily, and institutional work. Candidates who can show experience managing project delivery from schematic design through construction administration, and who know local jurisdictional requirements, stand out in Phoenix's competitive market.
Which companies hire project architects in Phoenix?
Phoenix project architect roles are posted by HDR, Gensler, and Dekker and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's employer mix includes regional architecture firms, national design-build companies, and in-house design teams at large healthcare systems and commercial real estate developers.
Are there remote project architect jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, though remote availability is limited for this role since project architects typically need to coordinate on-site and with local consultants. About 10% of project architect openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting industry norms. Design development, construction documentation, and client communication phases are the most common work done remotely by Phoenix-based project architects.
How can I get a project architect job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is joining a mid-size regional firm as an architectural designer or project coordinator, where you assist on commercial or multifamily projects and work toward licensure. Phoenix's growing healthcare and mixed-use development pipeline means firms like hospital campus design teams and urban infill developers frequently bring on junior designers. Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with Arizona's building code climate considerations give entry-level candidates a concrete edge locally.
Which industries hire the most project architects in Phoenix?
Phoenix project architect roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's rapid population growth, ongoing healthcare campus expansion, and sustained commercial real estate development are the primary forces driving project architect demand across those sectors.
