Project Architect Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project architect job in Philadelphia?
Focus on the sectors that drive Philadelphia hiring: large health systems, universities, and the city's active civic and cultural construction pipeline. Firms in Center City and University City consistently post openings, and experience with adaptive reuse of historic buildings gives candidates a real edge here. Familiarity with Philadelphia's urban infill context and public-sector procurement processes also stands out to local employers.
Which companies hire project architects in Philadelphia?
Companies currently hiring project architects in Philadelphia include Jacobs, Genesis AEC, and Stantec, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market includes a mix of large regional architecture and design firms, national practices with Philadelphia offices, and in-house design teams at major health systems and universities.
Are there remote project architect jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, though project architect work is largely site-dependent, with construction administration, client meetings, and field reviews requiring in-person presence. About 50% of project architect openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting roles where design development, documentation, and coordination work can be done off-site. Hybrid arrangements are more common at larger firms with established distributed teams.
How can I get a project architect job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is targeting junior project architect or architectural designer roles at mid-size firms handling institutional and healthcare work, where project volume is high and mentorship is structured.
