We are currently seeking a professional, technically skilled, and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our HazLoc team at our Las Vegas location.
This role supports testing, evaluation, certification, and technical project activities related to Hazardous Locations (HazLoc) equipment and products. The Project Engineer will work closely with the HazLoc team to evaluate products against applicable standards and requirements, conduct technical assessments, prepare engineering documentation, and manage certification projects.
A structured onboarding and training period will be provided to ensure the successful candidate develops the knowledge and confidence required to succeed in the role.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product testing, product evaluation, certification, project engineering, or a related technical field preferred
- Knowledge or experience with Hazardous Locations (HazLoc), explosion protection, or product certification is considered an asset
- Familiarity with applicable UL, CSA, IEC, ANSI, or other relevant product safety and certification standards is considered an asset
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, test procedures, and applicable standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team environment
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate technical reports and certification documentation
- Willingness to learn and develop expertise in HazLoc testing, evaluation, and certification requirements

Key Responsibilities:
The Project Engineer will support and coordinate HazLoc testing, evaluation, certification, and engineering projects, including but not limited to:
- Manage and coordinate HazLoc certification projects from initial technical review through testing and completion of certification documentation
- Perform mechanical evaluations and technical assessments of products and equipment for Hazardous Locations applications
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, product documentation, and technical information to determine applicable testing and certification requirements
- Conduct and support testing activities in accordance with applicable standards, procedures, and project requirements
- Evaluate mechanical construction, enclosures, components, materials, and protection methods for compliance with applicable requirements
- Determine appropriate test methods and assist in developing test plans based on applicable standards and product requirements
- Prepare and review technical reports, evaluation reports, test reports, and certification documentation
- Identify and document non-conformities and communicate technical findings to clients and internal teams
- Work with clients and manufacturers to obtain technical information and resolve engineering-related questions
- Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, technical requirements, and communication between clients and internal teams
- Maintain accurate project records, technical files, and documentation
- Assist with interpretation and application of applicable UL, CSA, IEC, ANSI, and other relevant standards
- Participate in internal technical discussions and support continuous improvement of testing and evaluation procedures
- Collaborate with Project Holders, Technicians, Certification staff, and other engineering team members
- Maintain awareness of applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and developments within the HazLoc industry
- Assist with additional engineering, testing, project coordination, and technical projects as assigned
This position requires on-site work within office, laboratory, and testing environments and may involve handling equipment, test samples, and technical instruments.
