WSP is currently initiating a search for a part-time Project Manager for our Columbia, MD office. Be involved in projects with our Program Management Team in Baltimore and Charles County and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
The ideal candidate will be an engineer with at least 7-10 years of experience in project management, planning, design, and construction management for roadway projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage design consultants and construction contractor’s projects for Roadway projects.
- Coordinate Project designers and construction managers activities.
- Manage capital improvement projects including project schedule, budget, and deliverables.
- Permit coordination. Provide technical presentations to project teams and other stakeholders.
Who You Are
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering or relevant field
- 7-10 years roadway design and construction management experience
- Strong oral and written skills
- Familiarity with the practices and principles of Design and Construction
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Experience with local and state highway agencies Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in performing and reviewing various traffic engineering analysis including traffic impact studies, traffic signal warrant studies, and reviewing traffic engineering design plans.
- Proficient knowledge of Roundabout design, standard, guidelines, and latest research.
- Proficient knowledge of street and sidewalk engineering, design, and construction principles and practices.
- Expert knowledge on the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), Highway Safety Manual, and/or other traffic engineering related safety policy, standards, or guidelines
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate both countywide programs and specific projects.
- Data and information systems management experience
- Experience in a web-based document management system such as e-Builder, Unifier and CM-14
- Ability to support scheduling for a program of multiple projects, including monitoring costs.
- EIT with desire to achieve PE.
Ability to lead and conduct large meetings and work in a client setting

Compensation:
Expected Salary: $140,000 - $150,000
