Job Description

Moonlite Electric & Construction, Inc. is hiring an experienced Electrical Project Manager to manage commercial electrical projects from award through closeout.

The ideal candidate has a strong electrical construction background and can independently manage project budgets, schedules, procurement, and change orders while maintaining clear communication with customers and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial electrical projects, including scope, budget, schedule, quality, and closeout.
• Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and identify scope gaps.
• Develop and maintain project schedules. Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and three-week lookaheads with superintendents and foremen.
• Monitor job costs, labor productivity, purchase commitments, and cost-to-complete forecasts. Identify issues early and take corrective action.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, material procurement, and equipment delivery schedules.
• Prepare, submit, and track change orders, including supporting documentation and cost and schedule impacts.
• Coordinate with general contractors, owners, vendors, subcontractors, and field leadership.
• Attend project meetings, communicate progress, and follow through on outstanding items.
• Support safe work practices and coordinate with field leadership on project safety requirements.
• Work with accounting and operations on progress billing and monthly financial reviews.
• Manage inspections, punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, and final closeout.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of project management experience in commercial electrical construction.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, procurement, and change orders.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PDF review tools.
• Ability to work from our Cary office and regularly visit assigned project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an electrician, foreman, or superintendent.
• Experience managing multiple commercial electrical projects.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Sage 100 Contractor, or electrical estimating software.
• Experience mentoring assistant project managers or junior project staff.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
