Project Management Coordinator Jobs in Honolulu: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project management coordinator job in Honolulu?
The strongest entry points in Honolulu are construction and civil infrastructure, defense and federal contracting near Pearl Harbor and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, and large healthcare systems like Hawaii Pacific Health and The Queen's Health Systems. Candidates who stand out typically combine a PMP or CAPM credential with experience coordinating multi-stakeholder projects in a regulated or government-adjacent environment, which reflects the realities of Honolulu's largest employer sectors.
Which companies hire project management coordinators in Honolulu?
Honolulu project management coordinator roles are posted by Booz Allen Hamilton, First Hawaiian Bank, and AECOM and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The employer mix here skews toward construction developers, federal contractors, hotel and resort operators, and regional healthcare organizations, reflecting Honolulu's project-heavy, service-driven economy.
Are there remote project management coordinator jobs in Honolulu?
Yes, though availability depends on the role's hands-on requirements. About 36% of project management coordinator openings tied to Honolulu are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with most fully remote positions concentrated in tech-adjacent coordination, program administration, and client-facing account management rather than on-site construction or facilities roles.
How can I get a project management coordinator job in Honolulu with little or no experience?
The most realistic path in Honolulu is starting as a project administrator or construction office coordinator with a local general contractor or developer, many of whom hire entry-level coordinators to support active build projects across Oahu. The University of Hawaii system and major hotel groups like Hilton and Marriott also bring in coordinators at the associate level for renovation and event operations work, giving candidates a foot in the door without prior PM experience.
Which industries hire the most project management coordinators in Honolulu?
Honolulu project management coordinator roles concentrate in Banking & Financial Services, Human Resources, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Honolulu's sustained construction pipeline, heavy federal presence, and year-round hospitality operations create consistent coordinator demand across all three sectors regardless of broader economic cycles.
