Project Management Coordinator Jobs in Portland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project management coordinator job in Portland?
Focus your search on Portland's technology corridor, major health systems, and the city's active construction and infrastructure sector, all of which hire project management coordinators regularly. Roles concentrate in the Pearl District, Lloyd District, and Central Eastside industrial area. Candidates who stand out typically hold a CAPM or PMP credential, know Agile or construction scheduling tools, and can show cross-functional experience from internships, volunteer coordination, or administrative roles with a project component.
Which companies hire project management coordinators in Portland?
Portland project management coordinator roles are posted by Oregon Health & Science University, Cascadia Health, and Portland State University and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Portland's hiring mix reflects its economy, with openings spread across mid-size tech firms, large health systems, engineering and construction companies, and public utilities.
Are there remote project management coordinator jobs in Portland?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the sector, since coordination roles tied to construction sites or hospital operations are almost always on-site, while software, marketing, and administrative project support often allow remote work. About 70% of project management coordinator openings tied to Portland are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the strongest remote share in Portland's technology and professional services companies.
How can I get a project management coordinator job in Portland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Portland is moving into a coordinator role from an administrative, operations assistant, or team lead position within the same employer. Portland's healthcare systems, construction firms, and public agencies regularly post entry-level coordinator and project assistant titles that do not require prior PM titles. A CAPM certification or completion of a Portland Community College project management certificate strengthens an entry-level application, and volunteering with Portland nonprofits on event or program coordination builds a credible portfolio.
Which industries hire the most project management coordinators in Portland?
Most project management coordinator openings in Portland sit in Education, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Non-Profit & Social Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Portland's concentration of semiconductor and clean-tech firms, major health systems like OHSU and Providence, and a steady pipeline of infrastructure and commercial construction projects collectively drive consistent coordinator hiring across those sectors.
